Just got home from my 1st day with a Miata. It's a VERY good car. I wish it were 300 lbs. lighter, then you wouldn't have to do ANYTHING to that wonderful engine or suspension. I think I could do without ALL of the plastic bits and gizmos, but leave the Bose Stereo & speakers and just bolt them on to whatever sheet metal is left. I bought a leftover 2000 LS, Green/Tan, with the Michelin 195 50R15's. Car's on RAILS. Wonderful. I've wanted to buy a Lotus Elise for 2 years now. Been driving interim cars (Corolla, Accent) saving my dough for those 2 years. The Lotus ain't gonna happen 'til 2004. It's gonna be real hard to part with my Miata & $40K in April, 2004, but I'll probably do it and FINALLY have a COMPLETE sports car.

Just wait till you blow another $250 and replace those crappy Michellins with 195/50/15 Bridgestone RE-71's.. THEN you will discover that rails took on a whole new definition (and about .25G's in handling) and the first time that you drive it in the rain you won't be praying to new dieties every time you hit a puddle. Otherwise I *love* that color combination! Congrats on the ride, it has just begun. As for the Elise in 2004? I have some suspicion that it will end up being a 2nd car in the the stable..
