The all-new Venza was developed as a vehicle that combines the styling, comfort and fun-to-drive performance elements of a five-passenger sedan with the surprising utility of an SUV. The development focus of the Venza design team was to create a new crossover vehicle that shifted away from the more traditional SUV styling themes that tend to dominate the segment. Calty designers leaned more heavily on a sleek sedan concept with a wide stance that featured a sporty exterior and premium comfort interior but would also be equipped with important SUV attributes such as cargo space, towing capability and all-wheel-drive performance.
Another unique attribute that Venza has is that it is dogs friendly, it has dog-related optional items that are designed to make life easier and safer for our four-legged friends.
A new crossover being introduced by Toyota this fall has ears turning and tails wagging because among its many features are several that are particularly dog-friendly.
- a rear hatch pet ramp for easy loading and unloading,
- a leash tether for securing pets in the vehicle,
- a pet booster seat with harness,
- a first/second row or cargo area pet barrier,
- pet seatbelt buckles
- rear seat zip line-style harnesses.

I remember deciding to buy my Miata two years ago. It was a period of intense changes both personal and professional. I’ve started a new job after moving from L.A to Palo Alto.
I left my boyfriend and really felt I needed to really spoil myself with something that would be fun enough to remind me why all the changes were worth it.
It all led to the decision to go crazy and buy the car of my dreams used but still the sort of cart that can make me feel really really happy.
I haven’t regreted it for a minute since. the difficult period id long over and I still believe that I wouldn’t dare spoiling myself in this manner if I hadn’t a really good excuse. So thank you rough times you’ve brought me a nice present.
I just found a not too different story on jmc’s blog and I have to wonder about my own conditioning can I have fun only when I suffer enough to earn it? That’s a really stupid mechanism. So if you want a Miata go and buy one don’t wait until you’ll feel that you’ve earned the right just enjoy.

The ship that you see in the picture carried new Mazda cars and as a result of this accident all the cars that were aboard it were declared unsafe and therefore can’t be sold or even donated.
Mazda choose to dispose of the cars and the process is described here
Mazda has decided to build a disassembly line in Portland, Ore., where the cars will be broken down piece by piece. Wheels and CD players will be removed and destroyed, platinum will be yanked from the catalytic converters, and all metal will be crushed, shredded and sent back to Japan for recycling. All told, that’s an estimated $100 million worth of automobiles done in because they spent a few weeks angled incorrectly.
As the ship and its cargo were insured there is no financial costs but still it is strange to see so many perfectly new cars turned into metal.
