I am facing a suspension soon. I do not live near public transportation and will have no way to get to college or work.
Does anyone know if how one can get get certain driving privelidges for a situation such as this?
Or if anyone knows a site where I can find out more info that would be appreciated.

should have details on the circumstances in which a restricted license may be issued. For example, in California, you can get a restricted license if you must drive to get to employment or to a required alcohol or drug treatment program (no mention is made of needing to drive to college); but you must maintain insurance, which is likely to cost you the price of many taxi rides.

Columbia, if you get your license actually suspended outright (as opposed to a ban, which imposes a similar effect but is not legally the same and is not transferred across the entire continent), then you likely deserved it, since licenses are only suspended for criminal convictions (usually DUI). This is not the case in some parts of the U.S., though, where one can get one`s license suspended for the heinous crime of speeding on a freeway (shock horror!).
