Has anyone had there 'check engine light' come on. Besides a loose fuel cap or fuse, what could be the problem?

It could be a whole list of possibilities. How many miles? It should be storing a code that the dealer can read and tell you what kind of problem it is reporting. Often it is a bad sensor.

I think that light comes on whenever the OBD (on-board diagnostic) system detects something it doesn't like. This could be as simple as a couple misfires. I second the advice to have the dealer read the code (that should be) stored in the ECU.
