I'm the proud owner of a '92 Miata. How do I disconnect the trunk opener switch in the box between the seats? I don't want keyless access to the trunk; it reduces my security.

Is this an electric after market trunk opener? If so disconnect the power wires behind the panel in the trunk that covers the tail light wiring. Mine are wired to the lights so that the only way to open the trunk is to turn the lights on 1st.

If it is a cable release it can be temporarily disabled by turning the trunk key counter clockwise.
