I recently purchased a passport 8500, and have amazed with its performance. This was until I reactivated and started using my cell phone. For some reason when I have my cell phone on in the car I will get random xband allerts. I am sure this is from the cell phone because when i trun it off, I get no falseing at all. Is this normal, because my Bell did not do this... My radio shack detector, it was a problem,, but I would not expect this thing from an escort. I have a sprint phone which operates around 1.9 gig Which is no where near the xband frequency range. Even if the phone puts out harmonics,, it should not relly trigger the excort..

The Escort must have a louse antifalsing circuit. My Beltronics has no such problem.
I don`t remember the brand, but my first radar detector would give me alerts whenever I drove near an in-use cell phone.
