Most people assume that winter driving is the most dangerous because of road conditions and bad weather, but that is not necessarily correct.
Summer driving, in hotter climates, can be much worse because the lethargy that the heat can cause leaving drowsy and inattentive drivers, that on long open stretches of road are likely to fall asleep, and while driving in traffic are likely to loose their cool, so to speak, faster, thus driving in a less calculated and safe way.
Another thing that can help drivers loose their cool, so to speak, is driving of to what is supposed to be a relaxed vacation, with a bunch of kids in the back, who understandably do not have much patients for long distance travel… and have no qualms in letting their distaste be known.
Kia buzz did a great post on preparing your vehicle and yourself for safe summer traveling with advice that is universal to all cars, Kia included.
