Anyone looking for a motor with high performance but no emissions could find the answer to their wishes in the recent British Motor Show, where the Telsa Roadster, the first performance electric car manufactured by Tesla Motors, was unveiled. Due to its lithium-ion energy storage system, this electric roadster can cover 250 miles on a single charge.
It is capable of accelerating from 0 mph to 60 mph in about 4 seconds, and can reach a top speed of more than 130 mph.
The car can be charged using a home-based charging system (EVSE-Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) and there is also an optional mobile charging kit, for using when away from the EVSE. Charging time is about 3.5 hours.
The body’s design is a result of a team effort led by Barney Hatt, principal designer at the Lotus Design Studio.
It is sleek, it is stylish, and for the price tag of $80,000 it can be yours.
