If you were around Britain`s quarter-mile ovals in the 1955-1975 era (or your parents were?), have a look at my personal website www.oldstox.com
It has some 200 snapshots and stories of the legendary racers and their cars of that era. The atmosphere was wonderful: "Build-it-yerself, fix-it-yerself, race hard, settle your scores at the track, and no whining." I`d be happy to see any old snapshots you may have tucked away -- remember Jumbo Tustin, Tiger Griffin, Rush Tyrrell, Dirty Dennis, Darkie Wright, and champs like Ellis Ford and Aubrey Leighton? They welded up truck chassis to Ford 10 bodies, dropped in a big ol` Chrysler V-8, built armour round the whole shebang, and had one big laugh.
Have a look and enjoy!
