Can anyone please help me to understand the exact functions of POWER (Ect-s-power) and MANUAL (Ect-s-manual) switches beside the Gear Liver of Toyota Corona Select Saloon 1995 model? When I press the PWR switch, a green light appears in the dashboard indicating ?Ect-s-pwr and while pressing the MAN switch an orange light appears indicating ?Ect-s-man`. But, I do not feel any difference while driving, even when both are switched off. BTW, what does Ect-S stand for?

designations, POWER changes the shift points so that you stay in lower gears a little longer, and MAN is a manual override that puts it in a Tiptronic-like mode. If these switches really don`t do anything, those features of the transmission may be inoperable.
